• what software does it run?

it should be broadly compatible with the Zaurus

• can you update the kernel?

Yes. The method for update is probably through a serial connection but this hasn't been confirmed yet.

• can you get the source for the kernel and all the modules?

Not sure. The source for at least the kernel should be available under GPL, some modules may be binary only.

• can you update the applications?

Yes but the method is unclear

Hardware Questions

• where is the 140-pin connector?

inside somewhere. But how to access it is not known. It may be similar to a SO-DIMM (144 pins) as used in laptops

• where is the SD/MMC flash slot?

not known

• can SDIO cards be used in the SD/MMC slot?

possibly, the CPU is compatible with SDIO and the reference schematic shows connections to all pins of the SD slot. However a driver is needed and that is not trivial.

• the IO connector supports PS/2 keyboard, USB and serial... how?

probably using the cradle as a breakout for the various connections -Cam

• the pictures are a bit unclear, what colour is it?

metallic black, apparently

• is that sticky tape on the side of the case?
